Create transparency to enable investment

MeetMySources wrote: Consumer brands can only create a business case for investment, in sustainable raw material production practices if they can prove the investment’s positive ecological or social impact to the end consumer. Nowadays „trustmarks“ like brands and certificates are insufficient to establish the required consumer trust in the related impact claims, therefore brands have to provide transparency in form of instantly accessible digital proof points. . Meetmysources is a digital platform which allows consumer brands to directly interact with the raw material producers in their supply chain. Small plastic cylinders for high-efficiency dishwashing

Small plastic cylinders for high-efficiency dishwashing

Granuldisk has developed a new type of dish washers, where small pieces of plastic called Powergranules are incorporated into the dishwashers, scratching off unwanted residue from cooking pots and pans. This is combined with high pressure and water to make sure the clean process is finished. According to their website, the amount of water and energy needed to obtain the same result is reduced when using Powergranules. The products also replace many chemicals that are used in traditional dish washers.

Turn Buildings into Large Air Purification Systems

Turn Buildings into Large Air Purification Systems

PurCity wrote: Purcity has developed for the first time in the world a pct patented, sustainable and highly efficient self-cleaning air purification system that turns new or existing buildings into large scale air purifiers. It is called gaps, and consists of industrial panels that are a great substitute for exterior aluminium facades. Gaps shape has been designed like a double facade, which produces a chimney effect to naturally suck the polluted air into the gaps chemically activated exterior wall-panels, which removes both pm2. 5 particles and toxic gases like sox, nox, vocs and carbon dioxide. The clean air is then delivered to the building through the hvac system, which saves 10-20% (15-30 kwh/m2) of energy consumption while delivering pure air... Umweltlink AG wrote: Many types of industrial waste-water cannot be treated by conventional sewage plants. In developing countries, they go into rivers untreated. In highly developed countries they are burnt at very high cost. We have developed a low-cost technology to treat industrial waste-water. The scientific description of our technology is oxidative reduction of chemicals in aqueous systems with internal superoxide support. We call it orcaswiss. The orcaswiss reactor takes in industrial wastewater and treats if with air and hydrogen peroxide. The reactor lets out clean water which can be treated further and ultimately produce drinking water... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad
