The Dubai Outdoor Solution Declaration
A call for an expanded climate and innovation agenda at COP28, and supporting for the outdoor sector as a solution provider delivering on human needs.
We urge participants in Dubai and beyond to:
- Recognize and make full use of the outdoor sector, which, through products and services, can help in providing solutions to significantly avoid emissions in ways that are compatible with a just transition that is both globally environmentally sustainable, and supports a future where 8-11 billion people can live flourishing lives.
- Support the creation of a workstream linked to UNFCCC and COP, as well as the post SDG agenda, with focus on transformative outdoor solutions from clusters that can accelerate sustainable flourishing lives for all.
- Support sprints with an expanded climate and innovation agenda that focuses on human needs and the clusters of solution providers that can deliver on these needs.
- Support the development and adoption of a methodology and data, to assess the positive impact of solutions, that can be used to support business model innovation and guide investment, as well as allowing for collaboration with cities and regions.
- Include outdoor solutions in national mitigation/adaptation plans, innovation strategies, mobility strategies, housing strategies, health strategies, etc. and share best practice.
