The tool assesses the full impact of solutions from companies in four steps. It can be used by any company, investor, or incubator, but especially purpose driven companies that want to show the full scope of their positive contributions and how they can increase it further.
Panelists:
Carlos Ruiz-Garvia, Project Manager, UNFCCC Global Innovation Hub; Dennis Pamlin, Executive Director, Mission Innovation's Net-Zero Compatibility Initiative and Senior Advisor, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden; Clara Wickham, Sustainability Analyst, Mission Innovation's Net-Zero Compatibility Initiative / RISE; Ruth Reichstein, Advisory Board to the President, New European Bauhaus, European Commission; Eva Karlsson, CEO, Houdini; Louise Berg, Visionary and founder, Sibship; Nick Henry, CEO & Founder, Climate Action
The launch of the Purpose Driven Assessment tool, was supported by a common understanding of the panellists of the need for such tool to understand and to better prioritize emerging solutions. This included a clear message from the panellists that honesty and transparency are needed regarding the challenges that humanity faces with climate change, and that no one solution is enough to achieve the global goals.
Ruth Reichstein who is on the advisory board to the President of the European Commission provided an introduction to the New European Bauhaus and how it is exploring new ways to engage a wide range of stakeholders and the challenges we all have working in institutions that are not made for the times we live in. She provided insights to the vision of a beautiful, sustainable Europe.
Eva Karlsson, CEO at Houdini Sportswear provided an overview of how they use the formula P (Product) * V (Volume) + L (Lifestyles) = Total impact to guide their work. She stressed the need for being honest about the challenges we are facing, but also to be brave enough to have a bold vision.
Louise Berg, founder and visionary at Sibship described her journey as a purpose driven start-up for the empowerment of women and the difficulty to find partners and investors who understood her vision for impact and often want to reduce her business model to a narrow product offering.
Nick Henry, CEO at Climate Action presented the work as a conference organiser that is really a matchmaker for impact. He gave examples of how they arrange for people to meet and solve challenges.
