As part of the SDG Global Festival of Action, the UN SDG Action Campaign hosted the ‘Co-Creation workshop: An expanded innovation space for climate action’ was one of several dialogues that brought together leading initiatives and solution providers within climate action, to explore systemic approaches to innovation that can enable and expedite transformative climate actions mainstreamed in SDG action while supporting countries to meet the Paris Agreement goals. Discussions included shifting the focus from reducing carbon emissions to providing solutions that contributes to core human need, as well as delivery of integrated 1.5°C Low-Energy Demand compatible solutions within policy, financial tools, technology and consumption behaviour. Representing Mission Innovation’s Net-Zero Compatible Innovations Initiative, Dennis Pamlin provided insights on how innovation will play an important role in the transition to a sustainable society.
